CLASS STYLES

We teach a range of classes at the Yoga Room, so there's something for everyone. All abilities, all bodies, all people. Get involved, Deptford!

DYNAMIC VINYASA FLOW

A vinyasa flow smoothly connects poses together to help build strength and flexibility through breath and a dynamic sequence. This is the perfect combination of building heat in the body through sun salutations, cardio, stretches and relaxation at the end of the session to ease tension as you melt into Savasana. Leave feeling totally energised. No teacher is the same so you will experience something new each time you come to practice.

MANDALA VINYASA FLOW

Mandala vinyasa is a creatively sequenced flow that will take you 360 degrees around your mat. Usually focussed on one of the elements - fire, water, earth or air - depending on the day and the teacher. The sequences are designed to flow through strong and soft postures, and relate to the chakras and elements of the flow. Expect a fun and dynamic practice and a well deserved Savasana!

HIIT TO SAVASANA

A perfect hybrid of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and a glorious chill out yoga sesh. Inspired by the combined love of a great work-out and yoga - you'll sweat and feel the burn before reaching into a deep stretch and melting into Savasana. Raising the heart rate is not only good for your body but it also increases your feel-good hormones in the brain. So expect a buzz at the end of the session. Bring trainers along to this class.

CANDLELIT YIN & YOGA NIDRA

Get cosy under candlelight as you melt into a deep state of relaxation. Yin is a nourishing and meditative style of yoga. You'll find a deep release in connective tissues through gentle stretching. The class will end with 'yoga nidra' or yogic sleep which is a state of being in between sleep and wakefulness. Totally relaxing and calming.

GENTLE FLOW

A perfect class to let go and to allow the body to move without ego, no sweat. Designed for yogi's of all abilities to enjoy no matter whether you're a seasoned yogi or a beginner. Keeping things gentle. Let the teacher guide you through a very slow and gentle flow incorporating breath and movement and end with some gentle stretching, a little bit of yin and relaxation.

POWER

Move with pace and power. Your normal vinyasa flow based class with more of rhythm, cardio and core. A great way to stimulate the nervous system, build stamina and breath control and to sweat out toxins. Making Savasana so much sweeter!

RESTORATIVE YOGA

Restorative yoga is a gentle, floor based practice giving your body time to slow all the way down. Release tension from the body and watch the mind follow. It's deeply relaxing and gives you much needed time out from the hustle. Restorative yoga allows you to practice with no end goal, boosts your immune system and calms your nervous system. A truly magical and beneficial evening.

BEGINNERS YOGA

Want to give yoga a try but afraid that you'll step into a class and not have a clue what's going on? This course will teach you the fundamentals of yoga and give you the confidence to move on the mat - helping you find mindfulness, strength and flexibility in a safe and supportive environment.

Designed for complete beginners and for those wanting to learn a little more about their practice. Giving you all the essentials you'll need to begin your yoga journey.

CREATIVE FLOW

Ready to try some new moves? This class takes your average dynamic vinyasa flow and turns it into an exploration of body and movement. Expect a little more playfulness - elevate your practice to new heights and have fun! After a fun and playful flow, delve deep into some relaxing, restorative poses to restore and calm the nervous system aallll the way back down.

EMBODIED HATHA FLOW

Embodied yoga brings a deeper sense of self-awareness and encourages exploration of movement and techniques that can be used on and off the mat. Focusing on changing habits and creating a more thought-out and rounded practice and lifestyle that can overflow into your day to day life. This combines with a gentle flow to keep the energy of the body flowing and moving intuitively.

FREE CLASS

Come join us for a bit of mindful movement every Friday afternoon at 12.30pm. You'll experience something different each week with a range of teachers. This is a free class but please do book in as spaces are limited. If you'd like to leave a donation at the end of the class, we will donate all profit to Deptford Reach - a charity that provides support and advice for people with housing, drug and alcohol and mental health issues.

VINYASA FLOW TO YIN

The perfect balance of Yin and Yang. Re-energise and recharge with a short vinyasa flow to strengthen and create heat in the body, before delving deep into restorative Yin to help you find space and calm. And Savasana. Always!

Build heat in the body through sun salutations, stretches and relaxation at the end of the session to ease tension as you melt into Savasana. Leave feeling totally energised. Each teacher provides a different experience and offering.

FLOW TO INVERSIONS

Build strength and resilience in the body in this playful class designed to help you find your balance. Challenge your strength and focus as we flow through a heated dynamic sequence. We'll dissect some of the mechanics of arm balancing to then incorporate them into your flow. The most important part of balance is the breath and core so there will be a focus on these throughout.

SLOW FLOW

Perfect for beginners and to be introduced to vinyasa flow. The slow string of movements will reset and realign the body. Expect a vinyasa flow with more detail on each pose - taking the time to explore and to experience what the body has to offer. The class will end with some deep stretches and restoring poses to calm the nervous system aaallll the way down.
